Adobe Share Beta

A few weeks or so ago I came across Adobe Share while at Adobe Labs.
It's basicly an application designed to share files, with a nice Flash interface that works in pretty much every browser the same & an API for developers to create mashups & whatnot with.
I'd tried to login to it with my Adobe i'd when I found it, but was greeted with an inventation only screen. So I added my email to the invitation list & forgot about it.

Well this morning I got an email

Thank you for your interest in Adobe's latest online offering codenamed "Share". The wait is finally over!
To create your own account, just click on the document icon in this email and sign in to Share with your Adobe ID. If you need to create an Adobe ID, click on the link above the sign in box. Try it out!

letting me know I was ok to login with my Adobe id, & after verifying my email address that's what I did & here's the first thing I saw.

( Click on any of these to see a larger image. )

That's the home screen, at the bottom you can see the PDF Adobe sent me to let me know everything was working.

Here's the screen I got I was shown while my image was loading. I decided to use the Dell advertisement image I was working with at the time.
I like the progress indicator, given Adobe has given us a GB of space with the Beta that indicator should come in handy.

Here's the tile view of my library. You can adjust adjust the size of the icons with that slider & blue circle button you see on the right, I think Adobe should reduce the maximum size myself, you can make them take up about half the screen which is just silly.

If you look slightly to the left of that icon size slider you'll see a couple of views buttons, the one of the right is for the tile view, the one on the left switches it to grid view which looks like this.

The menu you see on the right in the second screenshot is nothing special at the moment, just a few categories to narrow down which images are shown & a search bar.
Under those is a list of contacts you can send files to, or rather links to the files at Adobe Share.

I haven't found out exactly what types of files are allowed right now, but so far I've uploaded images, FLA files, & ZIP Archives.
The JS & EXE I tried failed multiple times which is understandable for security, I suppose they can be archived in ZIP files though if need be.

Multiple files can be qued at once, it appears that only a single file is uploaded at a time though.

So far it's looking really cool, can't wait to see what else Adobe gets going with Share.
Oh, & in case you're wondering, this post on Adobes' blog states that everyone who signed up for the Beta should get an email like mine by the end of this week, general registration will be open the beginning of next week.
